A Loevenstein family are in shock after their neighbour’s seven-metre long caravan ended up on their doorstep.
Resident Hennie Benade says at about 19:30 on Tuesday (25 April) he was preparing food when he heard a loud bang and the dogs barking.
As he ran out of his front door, Benade says he was surprised to find a caravan perched on his retaining wall.
The caravan is owned by Sally and Adrian Gildenhuys who say they were preparing the caravan for a trip when it started to roll, with all their holiday equipment already inside. They tried to stop it from rolling down the road but were unsuccessful.
It rolled down Wattle Street and landed at Benade’s house in Laurel Street.
Adrian was injured in the incident and was taken for medical treatment.
