The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue department is currently on site at a blaze at a factory on Range Road in Blackheath.
According to Fire and Rescue spokesperson Theo Layne, firefighters arrived on the scene just after 15:00 this afternoon.
“Currently 11 fire fighting vehicles with more than 50 firefighters are battling the blaze at IDS Insulated Door Systems,” says Layne.
As a result of the blaze, Range Road is closed between Buttskop and Buttskop roads.
At present no injuries or fatalities have been reported. The cause of the fire is also not yet known.
