A stolen Nissan bakkie and two car radios were recovered by Brackenfell police in Protea Heights early on Tuesday 9 January.
Police were patrolling the area around 03:00 when they spotted the white Nissan bakkie in Angelier Street, not far ahead of them.
“The bakkie suddenly stopped on the corner of Angelier and Buitekant streets, where two men jumped out and ran away into different directions,” says Captain Erica Crous, a police spokesperson.
Local security companies assisted police in searching for the suspects, but to no avail.
“It was found that the Nissan bakkie was stolen in Angelier Street. Inside the bakkie two car radios were found, which it was later determined were stolen out of motor vehicles in Beethoven and Hebron streets.”
One case of theft of motor vehicle and two cases of theft out of motor vehicle were opened and are being investigated.
