Firefighters were battling strong winds to bring a raging fire under control at Reapers paintball range, just off Bottelary Road in the area of Stellenbosch farms near Kraaifontein.
The fire broke out just after 13:00, and plumes of black smoke were impeding visibility on Bottelary Road, which was closed off to traffic in both directions.

According to Jermain Carelse, City spokesperson, the Fire Services received an emergency call around 13:10.
“We currently have several resources on the scene from various fire stations and seasonal firefighters,” he said.
