The body of a woman (50) was discovered on the beach in Milnerton earlier this month.

The body of a 50-year-old woman recently washed up on Sunset Beach in Milnerton.

Preliminary outcomes of the post-mortem cite that no foul play is suspected.

Police have confirmed that an inquest docket into the incident has been opened.

The body was found at about 09:00 on Thursday, 17 August.

Police say the woman was identified by her brother.

The local ward councillor, Anthony Benadie, has since appealed to the community and public not to speculate on the causes and circumstances surrounding this incident and to allow the police to conduct and conclude their investigation.

“On Thursday 17 August the body of an unidentified adult female was found on Sunset Beach. While the South African Police Service has opened an inquest docket into the incident, the preliminary outcomes of the post-mortem cite that no foul play is suspected. The police investigation into this incident continues. As and when any permitted information is received, I will communicate such information to the community,” Benadie says.

The family is yet to respond to TygerBurger’s request for an interview.
