Hundreds of Bishop Lavis residents took to the streets on
Wednesday morning to protest against the ongoing violence in the area.

Valhalla drive was closed between Owen and Jakkalsvlei
Roads, as well as Myrtle and Tafelberg road at Bishop Lavis police station. The
roads have since opened.

Residents were frustrated that police came in their numbers
to a peaceful picket, yet they “fail” to respond to calls of gang violence in
the area.
