The provincial department of health has confirmed to TygerBurger
that the Bishop Lavis Day Hospital has been temporarily closed.
Department spokesperson Zolani Zenzile explained this is due to a
“gang related incident in the vicinity”.
The day hospital has been closed to ensure safety of both staff
and patients.
“We await the safety clearance from police before the facility is
reopened,” said Zenzile.
