City reminds residents of planned electricity supply maintenance in parts of Bellville

The City of Cape Town will interrupt electricity supply to five Bellville areas for nine hours on Tuesday 28 October for essential infrastructure maintenance. The planned outage will affect Kanonberg, Oude Westhof, Van Riebeeckhof, Welgedacht and Protea Valley from 07:30 to 16:30.

The City apologised for any inconvenience and confirmed maintenance work originally scheduled for Saturday 25 October, which had been postponed to Tuesday. City officials said the electricity supply could be restored at any time during the maintenance period, and residents were expected to treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration.
“Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on,” the City said in a statement.

The maintenance work will impact only the highlighted areas shown on the City’s outage map, which can be viewed at https://bit.ly/4okkvqF.

The City thanked residents for their cooperation and understanding during the essential maintenance work.
