One, two, three! Are you ready for the second annual Fast3 Netball Tournament held at Tyger Valley Centre during the June school holidays?

Several u-11, -12 and -13 teams will take on each other in the fast-paced tournament that started last year and this year is bursting at the seams. The action-packed tournament pits teams of three-a-side against one another and will leave spectators breathless.

This year 30 teams will fight it out in Tyger Valley Centre in Bellville from 4 July with the final being played on Sunday 6 July.

Arend Visagie, CEO of Three Cube Management (TCM) and one of the brains behind the concept, said being part of Fast3 was thrilling and delightful, particularly since it is rapidly becoming a main feature on the netball calendar.

“After a very successful inaugural year, 2024, TCM is proud to announce that the tournament has developed strong growth shoots, and it is also now taking place in Pretoria and Johannesburg. Our main goal is to thrill and delight fans and players alike. We would also like to grow the sport and get the youth involved in positive engagements.”

He said a sign of growth in the tournament is that entries for teams had to be closed early. “The overwhelming response we received blew my mind. It shows we did something right last year and netball lovers will now look forward to this event every year. That is why we are making it bigger and better, and you don’t want to miss out.”

Alleta van Wyk, Tyger Valley’s Marketing Manager, said the centre is the heart of the community. “We are once again happy and proud to work with TCM in hosting this very exciting tournament. Because we have the community at heart we cannot think of a better fit than bringing sport into our midst. History has shown that sports connect different cultures and different communities in South Africa, and we are proudly taking this opportunity to do just that.”

Ashley Thambiran of Kelloggs in the Western Cape was happy to be involved in the Fast3. “Our noodles have always been high in fibre and in energy and nutrition. After Covid we went back to our development team and identified that noodles had become a staple food in communities.” He said supporters can also look forward to great activations and stand a chance to win lots of prizes.

The tournament starts Friday at 11:00 and ends at 18:00. The finals will be played on Sunday, starting at 09:00.
