Table View’s Ward 113 was alive with excitement last week as families, friends, and neighbours gathered for the much-loved Arum Road Halloween Walk 2025 — a festive tradition that’s become one of the community’s highlights each year.
Under clear skies and with an infectious buzz in the air, residents of all ages donned their spookiest costumes and gathered at Barlinka Road Park, the official starting point of the event. The Halloween Walk kicked off at 15:00, transforming Arum Road into a colourful parade of witches, superheroes, ghosts, and ghouls.

Locals join in
Councillor Sue van der Linde expressed her delight at seeing so many local families joining in the fun.
“This event is a celebration of community spirit. It’s about creating a safe, family-friendly space where neighbours can come together, laugh, and make memories,” she said.
The afternoon featured trick-or-treating stops, cheerful decorations, and friendly competition with prizes for best dressed child, best dressed adult, and best decorated house. Residents went all out, turning their front yards into playful haunted houses and candy stations for little trick-or-treaters.
This year’s event was organised by Janelle van Staden, a single mom of two, who poured her heart into coordinating every detail to ensure a safe and magical afternoon for the community. Her dedication and energy brought smiles to hundreds of faces and kept this cherished Table View tradition alive.
With its combination of creativity, laughter, and community connection, the Arum Road Halloween Walk once again proved why Table View is such a special place to call home. Organisers extended thanks to all volunteers, parents, and residents who helped make the day both magical and safe.
“Until next year — keep those costumes ready and the candy bowls full,” Van der Linde said.
