Goodwood police arrested a 35-year-old man for housebreaking.

It is alleged that on Sunday 18 February the owner of a Cambridge Street house woke up and saw the suspect inside his house. When the suspect saw the owner he ran towards an open kitchen window, grabbed a knife and wanted to stab the owner.

According to Capt Waynne Theunis, the communications officer at Goodwood police, both the suspect and owner wrestled each other and in the process both sustained injuries.

Sgt Mosivelani Gobo who responded to the housebreaking in progress complaint found the two wrestling each other. The suspect was arrested and appeared in the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on a charge of housebreaking.
